It seems like just yesterday the Class of 2027 was heading back to school, and now we're already halfway through October! Between homecoming, football games, fall sports, college applications, senior activities, and everything else filling your calendar, it's easy to see how quickly this milestone year is passing.
If you haven't scheduled your Class of 2027 yearbook portrait or fall senior portrait session, now is the time to make it a priority.
At Lisa Mongulla Photography, I love helping high school seniors and their families throughout Westampton, Burlington County, South Jersey, and surrounding New Jersey communities celebrate this unforgettable chapter. Whether you're looking for a traditional yearbook portrait or a more personalized senior photography experience, my goal is to create portraits that reflect your confidence, personality, accomplishments, and everything that makes you uniquely you.
And with New Jersey's beautiful autumn colors surrounding us, October offers a wonderful opportunity to create senior portraits you'll treasure long after graduation.
One of the most important things to remember during senior year is that your school's yearbook portrait deadline may arrive much sooner than graduation.
Many South Jersey high schools have yearbook deadlines during October and November, which means families should be checking their school's requirements and making arrangements now.
Depending on your school's policies, you may be able to choose your own photographer rather than using the photography company associated with your school. However, every school has its own requirements for portrait backgrounds, attire, cropping, formatting, and submission deadlines.
Before scheduling, I encourage you to contact your Yearbook Advisor to confirm the specific guidelines and whether outside photographer submissions are accepted.
At Lisa Mongulla Photography, I offer two dedicated Yearbook Portrait Session options:
The 30-Minute Yearbook Session is ideal for seniors looking for a traditional, polished yearbook portrait in a relaxed studio setting. It's a focused experience that gives us time to create a portrait that meets your school's requirements while helping you feel comfortable and confident.
The 60-Minute Yearbook Plus Session provides additional time for seniors who want more variety. Along with traditional yearbook portraits, we can create personality portraits and professional headshots that reflect more of your individual style.
Yearbook Portrait Sessions include access to traditional yearbook attire such as the black velvet drape, tuxedo, graduation cap, gown, tassel, and year charm, along with professional portrait editing and a private online gallery. Direct submission to your Yearbook Advisor is available where applicable.
When booking, be sure to let me know which high school you attend so we can plan around the appropriate requirements.
Your yearbook portrait is one of the few images that will represent this moment in your life for decades. Let's make it one you're proud to look back on.
There's something special about fall in New Jersey. The changing leaves, warm golden light, cooler temperatures, and rich seasonal colors create a beautiful backdrop for outdoor senior portraits.
Fall sessions also offer wonderful opportunities to incorporate clothing and locations that feel natural to your personality.
Think cozy sweaters, denim jackets, layered outfits, boots, and colors such as burgundy, olive, navy, cream, rust, and camel. These shades complement autumn landscapes beautifully without competing with the person we're photographing.
We can explore wooded areas, parks, open fields, charming downtown settings, or another meaningful location throughout Burlington County and South Jersey. Some seniors prefer the timeless look of studio portraits, while others love the personality and movement that an outdoor session can bring.
And fall senior portraits don't have to be limited to colorful leaves. An urban setting, favorite neighborhood, athletic field, or location connected to your interests can be just as meaningful.
The most important thing isn't choosing the trendiest location. It's choosing a setting that helps tell your story.
Your official yearbook portrait may need to follow specific school guidelines, but your senior portrait experience can be so much more personal.
Think about everything that's made your high school years memorable.
Maybe you've spent countless hours on a soccer field, basketball court, or baseball diamond. Perhaps music, dance, theater, art, academics, or volunteering has shaped who you are. Maybe you're preparing for college, pursuing a career, or following a dream you've worked toward for years.
Those details deserve to be celebrated.
At Lisa Mongulla Photography, I offer several senior portrait experiences designed to reflect different personalities, interests, and goals. Some seniors want something simple and timeless, while others want a more extensive experience incorporating different outfits, locations, activities, and milestones.
We might photograph you with your instrument, sports equipment, favorite books, or something that represents your future ambitions. We can also plan portraits with a sibling or twin who is graduating alongside you, creating images that celebrate your connection while allowing each of you to express your individuality.
And senior portraits don't have to happen all at once. Depending on the experience you choose, we can explore opportunities throughout the school year, including fall senior portraits, meaningful locations, activities, portraits with friends, and cap-and-gown sessions as graduation approaches.
Your senior year is a collection of experiences, and your portraits can help preserve more than one part of that story.
One of my favorite parts of being a South Jersey senior photographer is meeting students from so many different schools and communities.
Based in Westampton, New Jersey, I've had the pleasure of creating senior portraits for students attending Rancocas Valley Regional High School, Northern Burlington County Regional High School, Shawnee High School, Lenape High School, Seneca High School, Cherokee High School, Moorestown Friends School, Cherry Hill High School East and West, Burlington County Institute of Technology (BCIT), Camden County Technical Schools, Eastern Regional High School, and many others.
I welcome seniors from Mount Holly, Lumberton, Hainesport, Mount Laurel, Moorestown, Medford, Marlton, Tabernacle, and surrounding South Jersey communities.
Whether you're planning a traditional studio yearbook portrait or a personalized outdoor senior session, I want the experience to feel relaxed, enjoyable, and thoughtfully tailored to you.
You don't need to know how to pose or feel completely comfortable in front of the camera before arriving. I'll guide you through expressions, positioning, and the details that help create natural, confident portraits.
Senior portraits aren't just about how you look during your final year of high school. They represent a transition between the person you've been and the person you're becoming.
For parents, these portraits often become even more meaningful as the years pass. They preserve the familiar smile, personality, accomplishments, and confidence of a son or daughter preparing for the next chapter.
That's why I love helping families think beyond digital files and consider how their favorite portraits can become beautiful artwork for their homes.
A statement wall portrait, thoughtfully designed collection, custom album, or keepsake can preserve this chapter in a way that becomes part of your family's everyday life.
Imagine walking past your senior's portrait years from now and remembering their excitement, their dreams, and everything that made this season special.
Your senior portraits deserve to be seen, enjoyed, and treasured, not simply stored away on a phone or computer.
At Lisa Mongulla Photography, I want every senior to feel comfortable, confident, and excited about their portrait experience. Whether we're creating a traditional yearbook portrait or exploring beautiful fall locations throughout South Jersey, I'll provide guidance with outfits, locations, posing, and expressions to make the session relaxed, personal, and enjoyable.
For parents, my goal is to make the process just as easy while creating meaningful portraits that celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime milestone.
Here's what families have shared about their experiences:
"We hired Lisa to take pics of my graduating senior in an outdoor setting. My son was a bit hesitant but Lisa made him feel very comfortable and was able to get his personality to shine through in her pictures. Lisa was able to capture this important milestone in my son's life FAR better than any high school photographer could ever do. If you are on the fence, book with Lisa. Years from now, you will be thrilled that you did!"
— Kim M.
"We had such a great experience with Bobby’s senior portraits! Lisa made him feel comfortable, gave helpful direction with posing, and made the entire session fun and easy. The photos turned out amazing—we couldn’t be happier!"
— Kathleen M.
"We had such a wonderful experience with Lisa Mongulla for my son's senior class pictures! She welcomed us into her home and made the entire experience feel so comfortable and special. She was absolutely wonderful to work with--kind, professional, and incredibly talented. We especially appreciated how she valued his opinion and included him in choosing which pictures he liked best. She made him feel heard and involved throughout the entire process. The photos turned out beautifully, and we could not be happier. We highly recommend LIsa to anyone looking for a photographer who truly cares about her clients and her work."
— Chrissy M.
These experiences reflect what I love most about photographing high school seniors: helping them feel confident, celebrating who they are, and creating portraits that become even more meaningful with time.
