Living in New Jersey means we can experience all four seasons. Each season has its beauty and unique qualities. And every person in New Jersey will have their favorite season for one reason or another. 

However, when it comes to the best time of year for family portraits, we would have to vote for fall. Autumn in New Jersey is likely the most amazing and beautiful time of year (from a photographer's viewpoint).

Fall Is a Great Time to Gather the Family Together

In New Jersey (Philadelphia and the surrounding area), the summer months are usually filled with running, vacations, summer camp, and outdoor activities. People are often very busy and find it difficult to get together for portraits.

However, while the fall is filled with back-to-school events and fall sports, families actually have a bit more free time to gather. They can use this time to gather and create memories to last a lifetime.

Fall is also a great time to capture your senior portraits.  We offer several session experiences to meet most needs.  Visit the website to learn about the different sessions we offer.  Just a reminder, your senior yearbook portrait is still yours. You do not need to use a school photographer. Instead, you can choose your own photographer and make sure your portrait showcases you and your signature look and style. However, it is best to find and book the yearbook portraits early as most deadlines are in October.  Please consult with your yearbook advisor.

The Weather Is Perfect!!

Have you ever noticed how fall is not too hot and not too cold. It is like baby bear's porridge, and "just right." 

Autumn in New Jersey allows us to enjoy the cool, crisp air without feeling like we need to bundle up in much more than a light jacket or cozy sweater, but these items also make for great layering pieces. Perfect weather also means we are not sweating as we try to pose for your perfect portraits.  

With perfect weather, senior or family portraits are nothing short of miraculous! 

The Colors Are Spectacular!

When autumn arrives in New Jersey and Philadelphia, pay attention to the spectacular colors of nature. Notice the rust orange, maroon, and browns and how they complement one another in a phenomenal pallet only Mother Nature can create. 

Combine these colors with the beautiful fall colors that fashion deems perfect for fall, and you have the perfect portrait color pallet. Fall colors allow portraits to pop in a way that does not occur throughout the rest of the year. These color combinations, alone, can make fall the perfect time of year for a portrait...senior or family.
