A Senior Session Full of Creativity, Confidence & Personal Expression

Every senior has a story—and some stories are beautifully layered, deeply personal, and completely one-of-a-kind.

Rurik’s senior session was exactly that.

From the very beginning, it was clear that this wasn’t going to be a typical session. Rurik brought creativity, intention, and a strong sense of self into every part of the experience—resulting in portraits that feel authentic, expressive, and uniquely theirs.

As a Westampton Senior Photographer, these are the sessions that truly stand out—not just because of the images, but because of the story behind them.

Why Rurik Chose Lisa Mongulla Photography

- A Guided Experience from Start to Finish

Like many families, Rurik’s journey began with a simple online search—but quickly turned into something that felt like the right fit.

“My mom found Lisa Mongulla Photography by searching online. She said the website looked great, was informative, and Lisa responded very quickly.”

That first impression set the tone for everything that followed.

From the very beginning, Rurik experienced clear communication, flexibility, and a genuine willingness to bring their ideas to life—something that became a defining part of their session.

One of the biggest concerns many seniors have going into their session is whether they’ll feel prepared. What should they wear? How will the session flow? What if they feel unsure in front of the camera?

For Rurik, that uncertainty quickly disappeared.

“Yes. Lisa gave us ideas about the colors of clothes that would look good and planning out which locations we would go to in order.”

This level of guidance is a core part of the Lisa Mongulla Photography experience.

From the start, seniors are supported every step of the way—with help choosing outfits, planning meaningful locations, organizing the flow of the session, and understanding exactly what to expect on the day of their shoot.

For Rurik’s session, this preparation went even further. With multiple locations involved, Lisa took the time to scout ahead and plan logistics, ensuring everything would run smoothly despite the tight timing, colder weather, and changing light.

That thoughtful preparation made all the difference.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed, Rurik was able to show up feeling confident, excited, and ready—allowing the entire experience to feel easy, natural, and fun.

A Session Designed Around Their Story

Rurik’s session was built around what mattered most to them—and that started with location.

Rather than choosing just one backdrop, they thoughtfully selected multiple locations that reflected different parts of their personality, interests, and future goals.

Their session included:

📍 Burlington County Library
📍 Westampton Amphitheater
📍 Smithville Park
📍 Woodlane Graveyard (Mount Holly)

Each location added a new layer to the story.

“I chose the library and amphitheater near my house because I love to sing and perform… The library gave us a great space to take some indoor pictures.”

The cemetery brought a completely different tone and reflected their future aspirations:

“I love cemeteries and graveyards and I plan to be a mortician.”

And the park added a sense of nostalgia and connection to their past:

“I chose a park I used to go to as a child… I love swing sets.”

This thoughtful approach created a session that felt dynamic—moving from expressive and light to moody and introspective, all while staying true to who Rurik is.

Creative Expression, Meaningful Moments & Lasting Memories

Rurik’s session was full of creative exploration—an experience where they felt free to try something different, lean into a variety of moods, and express multiple sides of their personality.

Their favorite part of the session captured that perfectly:

“My favorite part was the cemetery. I felt like I could take different pictures there—more moody and dark as opposed to always smiling at the camera.”

That contrast brought incredible depth to their portraits—balancing expressive, confident energy with a more introspective and artistic side.

Rurik also brought their own ideas into the session, embracing creativity every step of the way.

“I had an idea to climb up this big rock and Lisa took the pictures from below… even the rain didn’t stop us.”

Even with cold November weather and light rain, the energy never dropped. In fact, seeing the images come to life only added to the excitement.

“It was really cool to see how good the pictures were coming out… it made me want to keep going.”

That kind of excitement is what transforms a session from something planned into something truly experienced.

And for Rurik, those images mean more than just photos.

They plan to share the portraits with family, use them for graduation announcements, and keep them as lasting memories from this important chapter.

Because that’s what YOUR senior portraits should really be about.

Not just images—but moments, milestones, and reflections of who you are right now… preserved in a way you can look back on for years to come.

What’s Next for Rurik

As Rurik looks ahead, they’re considering college while also exploring the idea of taking a gap year.

“I plan to study mortuary science… I want to be a mortician. I still love singing and performing.”

It’s a path that reflects both creativity and individuality—two qualities that were clearly present throughout their entire session
