Some senior sessions are more than a rite of passage—they become a powerful way to honor the journey, personality, and passions that have shaped a young adult’s story. For Nick, his senior portrait session was exactly that: a meaningful tribute to who he is today and the incredible path he's paving for tomorrow.
As a Westampton Senior Photographer, I love working with families to create sessions that feel intentional and deeply personal. And Nick’s session was a perfect example of that.
With his mom, Tricia, by his side, and the setting sun illuminating the field that’s meant so much to him, Nick’s session was filled with warmth, intention, and confidence.
We’re honored to share a glimpse into his session—and why it perfectly captured this exciting chapter of his life.
As an experienced NJ Senior Photographer, I know not every senior walks into a session feeling excited about being in front of the camera. In fact, Nick admitted he was a little unsure of what to expect at first—but that’s where the power of a personalized experience really shines.
Nick chose the Simplicity Senior Session, a session designed for seniors who want meaningful, well-crafted portraits without all the extras. This session includes:
It’s perfect for seniors who may be short on time, a little camera-shy, or simply want one solid image that captures their personality, style, and purpose without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. And for Nick, it was exactly the right fit.
“I was unsure since I didn’t really know what to expect, but my mom knew exactly what would look great.” – Nick
“I was excited for the session, but I wasn’t sure how he would feel. He’s not usually into having his picture taken.” – Tricia
But once the session began, everything clicked.
“I had a lot of fun—I thought it went very well.” – Nick
“Relaxed! We talked beforehand about what we wanted from the session and Lisa executed everything perfectly.” – Tricia
Nick brought meaningful props and wardrobe choices, and the timing of the session gave us the most beautiful natural light—capturing his personality, goals, and journey in a way that felt natural and true to him.
“Lisa had great suggestions about locations, the time of day for photos, and the items to bring for personalization.” – Tricia
“I found all the help and suggestions to be great.” – Nick
When Tricia started looking for a senior photographer, she knew she wanted something personal—something more meaningful than the standard school portraits.
“I really preferred something more personal for my son’s senior portraits… Lisa was recommended by many families in the area. After viewing her website, I knew she was exactly what we were looking for.” – Tricia
Nick added that they were drawn to Lisa’s style after seeing work from other clients:
“We saw portraits of past clients and loved her work. We wanted to try something more fun and professional.” – Nick
Nick’s favorite part of the session? Capturing the details that matter most to him—on the field, surrounded by the things that have defined his high school experience.
“Taking the pictures on the field with all of my stuff and the sunset in the background.” – Nick
For Tricia, the highlight was watching her son open up and enjoy the process:
“I loved seeing my son smile and enjoy the experience. As a kid who’s usually shy about getting his picture taken, Lisa really got him to be comfortable in front of the lens.” – Tricia
The Micklewrights didn’t just enjoy the experience—they created keepsakes that will last a lifetime.
“We purchased prints and a storyboard. I love the storyboard because it tells a big part of his story—his sports, academics, and college choice.” – Tricia
“Wall art and memories for certain—possibly social media too.” – Nick
Nick is headed to Virginia Tech this fall, where he’ll study Exercise and Health Science, serve in the Army ROTC, and be a part of the Corps of Cadets. His long-term goal? To commission into the U.S. Army and eventually become a Sports Physical Therapist.
We are so proud of Nick and everything ahead of him.
“Yes, I had a great experience and it was a blast!” – Nick
“Absolutely!! And I already have recommended Lisa. I can’t wait to come back for my youngest son’s portraits in three years!” – Tricia
Nick’s story is a beautiful reminder that senior portraits are more than just a milestone—they’re a celebration of who you are right now and all the incredible things that lie ahead.
Senior year is full of “lasts”—the final game, the final class, the last time walking those familiar halls—but it’s also the beginning of something brand new. Your portrait session should reflect that exciting in-between moment: where you’ve been, and where you’re going.
Whether you're naturally confident in front of the camera or not sure how to pose, Lisa creates a comfortable, encouraging environment where every senior can be themselves. From the first consultation to the final edit, her goal is to bring out your personality and tell your story in an authentic, timeless way.
These portraits aren’t just for today—they're for the future you, your family, and the generations who will look back at this time with pride and nostalgia.
