Digital Care
Your digital files are one of the most precious products we provide at Lisa Mongulla Photography. You are responsible for maintaining their content. We do not store files indefinitely. Digital files are very fragile and are not an archival method of preservation of your images. We highly suggest you review the care instructions below.
- Make a copy of your files for storage in a different location than your original copy. You can store on a USB drive, hard drive of multiple computers or another form of storage.
- A USD drive is essentially a mini hard drive and it will eventually fail. Make a new copy every five years to avoid hardware failure due to age.
- Be sure to store your files in a dry, cool, dust-free place.
- The safest place for these files is to PRINT THEM! An archival, printed image will last 100 years or more. Digital files are fragile and easily corrupted, often lasting only 5-10 years.
